I installed the software on the blackjack and everything seems fine except I cannot input all of the letters A-Z in the text box. I can only input the letters A L O P Q S W Z
The other alpha blackjack keypad keys don't do anything.

Thank you for your feedback. We are aware of the input problem on some smartphones and we are working on a fix. We will make it available as soon as possible and we expect it to be within 2-3 weeks. Please check back.

an update

Still working on the fix. This model uses a buggy new input method which causes a lot of problems. We have found a work around. An updated version (3.0.1) for WM Smartphone will be released soon.

Now what?...

While I was not the original person to post this issue, I have the same problem with my Blackjack. I have downloaded version 3.0.2. However, it doesn't perform any differently. I am sure that you have an idea about what is causing the problem. But, in case you haven't made the connection, the only keys that work are those that are not associated with number dialing when the phone is in the "dial a call" mode. Note that each digit for dialing purposes is actually associated with two alpha keys to make dialing easier for those with big fingers or poor aim. Here's what I mean:

The alpha keys...
[Q] [W] [E] [R] [T] [Y] [U] [I] [O] [P]
[A] [S] [D] [F] [G] [H] [J] [K] [L] ...
... [Z] [X] [C] [V] [B] [N] [M] ... ...

are actually mapped in dialing mode to be...
... ... [1] [1] [2] [2] [3] [3] ... ...
... ... [4] [4] [5] [5] [6] [6] ... ...
... ... [7] [7] [8] [8] [9] [9] ... ...

leaving only the following keys to be recognized by your software...
[Q] [W] ... ... ... ... ... ... [O] [P]
[A] [S] ... ... ... ... ... ... [L] ...
... [Z] ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

I hope that made sense.

It seems that the only thing lacking in you software is something that tells the phone to go into full alpha mode when you software is in use.

Please fix this soon because I am going to China in a few weeks and have purchased this software for use on this trip. In its current condition, the software is useless for that.

Blackjack issue

Thank you very much for taking the time to describe the problem. We appreciate it.

Blackjack uses hardware from HTC (model S620), which invented a new input method. This has caused a headache for the developers due to its bugs and lack of documentation. What makes the issue worse is that S620 sold in different regions have different bugs.

Revision 3.0.1 and 3.0.2 are both for S620 input problems, but now we are aware of this problem you just described still exists on some S620 sold in Europe and on Samsung Blackjack, and we are actively working on it.

One thing you can try is to press fn+Space when the focus is in the edit box to see if it switches the input mode. It works on some S620 devices.

We have reproduced the problem on a test device arrived a few days ago. Well, at least we believe this is the same problem (we have to qualify our claim about S620 now...). We expect to fix it soon. Unfortunately we can't give a release date yet, although it could be very soon. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Fn+Space did not help

I tried the [Fn][Space] suggestion, but it did not work. I suspect it is because [Space] is shared by th [0] (zero) key. And if the keypad is in dial-like input mode, the [0] is locked out like the other number keys.

I anxiously await your update.

Another bug...

If I am using the Eng-Chi app and a phone call comes in, the dictionary list disappears. Even if I switch to another app or home screen and return, the dictionary is still gone. The only way to get it again is to actually Quit the program and restart it.

So, please add this to you list, if you will.

!!! But PLEASE address the input issue first with its own release !!!

We are still finalizing the signing and packaging, but this should work. Here is how to install:

1. Download the file from the link above.
2. Connect your Blackjack (HTC S620) to your desktop PC via activesync.
3. Copy the exe file directly to your device and replace the existing one in your install directory.

Please let us know if there is any problem.

I have followed your directions and installed the beta version. So far, it seems to be working well. I can enter text and translate flawlessly.
